First clip for Neil Jordan’s Byzantium

The first clip for Irish director Neil Jordan’s new film Byzantium has been released.

The film centres on a mother and daughter who move to a small British town and find that their dark secret is no longer so secret.

Saoirse Ronan stars as the daughter, with Gemma Arterton as her mother. The film also stars Caleb Landry Jones, Sam Riley and Johnny Lee Miller.

Byzantium opens in Ireland on May 3rd.

Two mysterious women seek refuge in a run-down coastal resort. Clara meets lonely Noel, who provides shelter in his deserted guesthouse, Byzantium. Schoolgirl Eleanor befriends Frank and tells him their lethal secret. They were born 200 years ago and survive on human blood. As knowledge of their secret spreads, their past catches up on them with deathly consequence.
