New clip and WonderCon trailer for Evil Dead

Sony has released a new video clip and a WonderCon trailer for Fede Alvarez’ remake of Sam Raimi’s 1981 classic horror film Evil Dead. The film went down a storm at SXSW with critics praising it’s effective use of practical effects and gore…and it’s easy to see why!

Five young  friends become holed up in a remote cabin and unwittingly summon up dormant demons living in the nearby woods. These demons possess the friends in succession until only one is left intact to fight for survival…

The film marks the feature directorial début of writer/director Alvarez who has been keen to play up the practical effects, rather than CGI that he has used in creating the film.

Evil Dead crawls into Irish cinemas April 12th, 2013.

In the much anticipated remake of the 1981 cult-hit horror film, five twenty-something friends become holed up in a remote cabin.  When they discover a Book of the Dead, they unwittingly summon up dormant demons living in the nearby woods, which possess the youngsters in succession until only one is left intact to fight for survival.
