Opening this week, a week before the United States (there had to be one!), is Mike Newell’s new film the action adventure movie adaptation of Ubisoft‘s best-selling videogame Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time. Starring Jake Gyllenhaal, Gemma Arterton, Ben Kingsley and Alfred Molina, the movie follows a rogue prince named Dastan who finds himself in possession of a magical dagger. This is no ordinary dagger as in its hilt are sands which have the power to turn back time. Realising that the dagger’s power could be used for unspeakable evil he joins forces with a mysterious princess to return the dagger to whence it came.
While reports are a little mixed on this so far I’m reserving judgement until I see it for myself. I loved the game.
