THR is reporting that Open Road has acquired all U.S. distribution rights to Liam Neeson’s new action film A Willing Patriot.
The film sees Neeson take on the role of a CIA agent who is tasked with capturing a terrorist who is planning an attack.
Applause director Martin Zandvliet directs a script from Jason Keller, who is also a producer on the film. No other cast members have been confirmed as of yet.
A Willing Patriot will shoot in South Africa, Morocco, and Tunisia later this year, with Open Road planning a US wide release in 2016. Sierra/Affinity is still selling the international rights for the film.
