The first teaser trailer for writer/director John Carney’s new movie Zonad has been released. Carney of course was the creative force behind awards favourite Once.
His new movie has a strong Irish cast, featuring Simon Delaney, David Pearse, Rory Keenan, Don Wycherley, and Janice Byrne.
The plot follows a rehab escapee named Liam whose arrival in a small rural community coincides with a rare comet sighting, making the (shockingly) gullible locals hail him as an alien from another galaxy.
It looks to have a few laughs but it’s also more than a little stupid. If Ardal O’Hanlon turns up a Thermoman then it’s all over.
