An ordinary man goes up against the world in the intelligent, engaging and exceedingly well-executed Leviathan.
With an on-form Gyllenhaal and a distinct look, Nightcrawler plumbs the atmospheric depths of Los Angeles nightlife for satire, but comes up with only broad media sideswipes.
The Drop is simply an ordinary film slightly elevated by good performances. Worth a watch but perhaps when it come to TV.
Standby is unashamedly broad and warm and with the right marketing could play very well across the world.
Out Of Here is a powerful and relevant tale of Dublin and Dubliners here and now, and a strong debt for writer/director Donal Foreman.
