Looking for the comedy hit of this summer? Well this could very end up being it. Dinner for Schmucks is Dreamworks big hope for the summer and with Steve Carrell and Paul Rudd in front of the camera and Meet the Parents director Jay Roach behind the talent is certainly there.
The movie tells the story of Tim, a career driven exec on the verge of making it. One more obstacle remains, a dinner party at the home of his boss where those who bring the most entertaining, eccentric, off-the-wall guest wins. And here’s Barry, a guy with a passion for dressing mice up in tiny outfits to recreate great works of art. We have a winner!
The movie is a remake of the 1998 comedy The Dinner Game, but the new cast and crew should bring this venture more fortune than that comedic side-step. Zach Galifianakis, Bruce Greenwood and Ron Livingston are also on hand to help with the comedic heavy-lifting.
From the look of the trailer this has Carrell in full-on crazy mode, with Rudd once again playing the straight man. There are some decent laughs and cringe-worthy moments in the short clip, which can be viewed in HD on Apple.com.
Dinner For Schmucks is out July 23rd.
