Fastnet Film Festival Puttnam Film Award

Fastnet Film Festival opens Call for Entries for inaugural Puttnam Film Award

Fastnet Film Festival has announced that applications for the Puttnam Film Award will open on Tuesday December 1st. This award will make €20,000 available to fund production of a live-action drama short film. A maximum of 10-mins, the short must be made on the Cork Wild Atlantic Way with a theme reflecting ‘The New Normal’.

Four finalists will be selected to take part in a public pitching event at FFF 2021 (26th – 30th May), and the winner of the 2020 Puttnam Film Award will be announced at the FFF Awards Ceremony on Sunday 30th May. The award-winning film will have its premiere screening at the Fastnet Film Festival in May 2022.

The Puttnam Film Award is director driven with entry open to directors who have made at least one short film that has had a festival screening. Completed scripts should be original. While submissions will be initially assessed on creative criteria, account will also be taken of a filmmaker’s awareness of production and their ability to deliver a completed film on schedule and within budget.

The application deadline to submit entries is 12 midnight on Monday, 1st March 2021 and submissions will only be accepted via our online application form.

This Award is a great opportunity for writers/directors to display original storytelling and to show strong production values suitable for the big screen.

Call for entries will run from December 1st 2020 until March 1st 2021.
