Sony Pictures has sent over an exclusive new clip for their forthcoming revenge thriller Faster, starring Dwayne Johnson. Highlighting a key action sequence from the film it shows why you probably shouldn’t let a killer loose in a hospital.
Johnson plays Driver, a hardened criminal who fresh out of jail is on a mission to avenge the death of his brother. Hot on his trail is a grizzled cop, played by Billy Bob Thornton, and a flamboyant hitman (Oliver Jackson-Cohen).
The trailers, images and posters so far mark this out as a balls-to-the-wall, adrenaline fuelled actioner…and that sounds like exactly the type of films Johnson should be making. Over the top action, plus a bombastic soundtrack.. I mean who doesn’t want to go faster?
After 10 years in prison, Driver (Dwayne Johnson) has a singular focus — to avenge the murder of his brother during the botched bank robbery that led to his imprisonment. Now a free man with a deadly to-do list in hand, he’s finally on his mission…but with two men on his trail — a veteran cop (Billy Bob Thornton) just days from retirement, and a young egocentric hitman (Oliver Jackson-Cohen) with a flair for the art of killing and newfound worthy opponent. The hunter is also the hunted. It’s a do or die race to the list’s finish as the mystery surrounding his brother’s murder deepens, and new details emerge along the way hinting that Driver’s list may be incomplete.
