US distributor IFC Films has released a new trailer for Peter Strickland’s third feature film The Duke of Burgundy. Strickland last gave us the brilliant Berberian Sound System in 2012, and this has been garnering great reviews on the festival circuit. Our own Philip has seen it and says it’s a winner.
The film centres on a woman who studies butterflies and moths as she tests the limits of her relationship with her lover.
The film stars Borgen‘s Sidse Babett Knudsen, as well as Chiara D’Anna, Eugenia Caruso, Monica Swinn, Fatma Mohamed, and Eszter Tompa.
The Duke of Burgundy is out in Ireland on February 20th.
