Remember that first “leaked” image from X-Men: First Class, and how crushingly disappointing it was? And then remember the first trailer for the movie and how exhilarating it was? Well we’re now back to the former crushing disappointment with these two new character posters that have been released by 20th Century Fox. I mean they put no effort into these at all.
The movie itself is a prequel to the X-Men trilogy, set during the 1960’s, and follows the budding relationship between Charles Xavier and Erik Lensher. It also looks at the creation of Xavier’s School for mutants and the assembly of the first X-Men team.
With Kick Ass helmer Matthew Vaughan behind the camera and a cast that includes James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, January Jones, Kevin Bacon, Rose Byrne, Jennifer Lawrence and Lucas Till, X-Men: First Class is shaping up to be really, really good. Shame about the posters.
X-MEN: FIRST CLASS, following the classic Marvel mythology, charts the epic beginning of the X-Men saga. Before Charles Xavier and Erik Lensherr took the names Professor X and Magneto, they were two young men discovering their powers for the first time. Before they were archenemies, they were closest of friends, working together, with other Mutants (some familiar, some new), to stop the greatest threat the world has ever known. In the process, a rift between them opened, which began the eternal war between Magneto’s Brotherhood and Professor X’s X-Men.
