Kerry Film Festival has announced Eibh Collins as its new Head of Programming, beginning with the milestone 20th edition of the festival, which will be held in Killarney 17th – 20th October 2019.
We’re delighted to be welcoming such an experienced, passionate and highly regarded professional to the Festival to kick off its third decade of bringing the best in new Irish and world cinema to the people of Kerry and Ireland.
Grace O’Donnell, Chair – Kerry Film FestivalEibh brings with her creative vision and vast experience of the international film industry and film festival circuit which she has acquired while working in festivals in Ireland, America, the UK and across Europe. We are excited to have such a strong voice for Irish Cinema and one of the top young female professionals in the industry curating the festival for our 20thEdition and beyond.
Eibh Collins is a hugely experienced film programmer and festival manager who has worked extensively on the circuit in Ireland and abroad. She began working with Ireland’s Leading Film Festival The Galway Film Fleadh in 2010. After working in Film, Fringe, Live Arts, LGBT and Documentary film festivals domestically Eibh began working at International Irish Film Festivals across Europe and the US.

In 2016 Collins began programming short film internationally and touring her curated selection of Irish shorts programmes. Showcasing the wealth in Irish film making talents across the world in Malta, Moscow, Luxembourg, London, LA and more.
Over the duration of 2019 she has been the short film programmer for the Oscar-qualifying Galway Film Fleadh, joined the team at Encounters Festival and is currently The Deputy Director of Irish Screen America, while curating several international programmes and events for a number of festival including Torino Film Market in Turin, Italy.
Collins is one of the leading voices in promoting Irish Cinema and Festivals around the world, and has been invited to represent Irish Film and speak at festivals such as

I truly just want to create a supportive and exciting space for filmmakers, both emerging and established, to attend what is sure to be a very special weekend. I want to give them an inexpensive place to learn, meet and watch – oh and have fun!
I am so excited to build on the outstanding work of Meave McGrath (former Artist Director) and continue to provide exciting event cinema to the local Kerry audience, by welcoming and showcase fantastic films to fantastic people from across the globe and adding my own twist and flare to the festival.

The Kerry Film Festival is set to return from 17th– 20th October and takes place in the heart of the south-west of Ireland and one of Ireland’s premiere tourist destination, the picturesque town of Killarney. The programme will be announced on October 4that our Launch ceremony at Killarney House & Gardens, Killarney National Park.
Highlights of the Kerry Film Festival include an international short film competition, a specially curated programme of features films, a showcase of Kerry talent and day of thrilling free industry events and talks. Through our annual Film Festival, our goal is to create new and exciting film experiences, create a hub of film creativity and appreciation in Kerry, champion the work of local and national emerging filmmakers and promote the county as a major filmmaking destination.
Kerry has a rich cinematic history, from the very first American Studio film shot on location outside of the US (The Lad from Old Ireland, 1910), to classics such as Ryan’s Daughter, Excalibur and more recent productions The Lobster and Star Wars: The Force Awakens and Star Wars: The Last Jedi and the Kerry Film Festival aims to celebrate and build upon this rich heritage.
