Galway Film Fair - Marketplace 2019

Galway Film Fleadh adapts 2020 Galway Film Fair as an online marketplace

In light of the ongoing Government restrictions on large gatherings, the 2020 Galway Film Fair will take place alongside the Galway Film Fleadh as a limited edition, online market event. Applications are now being accepted for the online Marketplace, taking place from July 7th.

The Marketplace at the Galway Film Fair co-ordinates pre-scheduled meetings between filmmakers with projects in development and/or completed films, with invited Film Financiers, Distributors, Sales Agents, Broadcasters, Film Funds and Major Producers. As well as the marketplace, the Film Fair hosts many ancillary events such as masterclasses, case-studies and most notably, the Fleadh Forum: an annual industry seminar with a state-of-the-industry keynote address and a range of panel discussions from industry leaders.

The 2020 Galway Film Fair will be powered by conferencing software such as Zoom, as well as other integrated platforms. Market screenings will take place via Festival Scope & Shift 72, the festival’s streaming solution for their online edition, announced earlier this week.

All events including our marketplace meetings will make the transition online, rounding out our 360º festival experience, with almost all of our international delegates willing to participate remotely and keep the business opportunities of our annual event in place. Our annual Forum will provide an opportunity for the many industry leaders to elaborate on what their plans are for film development and production in a post-pandemic landscape.

The Galway Film Fair has a number of unique selling points which include a transatlantic Bridge, privileged access to the world’s leading financiers, and showcasing new European & International cinema to leading film buyers, distributors and festival programmers from around the world.

To participate in the Marketplace at the Galway Film Fair, applicants must have either a project in development or a completed film/documentary. Applicants should note that priority will be given to projects which have a percentage of development and/or production finance in place.

Deadline: 5pm, Friday 5th June.

Fee: €75 per delegate / €100 for two delegates (max 2 delegates per company).
