Red Room

#AtCinemas: Stephen Gaffney’s horror Red Room screens tonight at Movies@Dundrum and Swords

Writer/director Stephen Gaffney’s horror debut Red Room will screen this evening at Movies@Dundrum and Movies@Swords, with another screening scheduled for the Gate Midleton in Cork on November 8th.

The film tells the story of Kyra, Alison, and Lily; three girls snatched off the streets and taken to an isolated location. There they await their turn to enter the “Red Room”. The trio must attempt to escape their sadistic captors in what filmmakers call a “gory and suspenseful ode to cult classics such as Texas Chainsaw Massacre and Switchblade Romance.”

Produced by Marc Hughes of Sicario Pictures, Red Room is the third film from Deep Web Films, a production company founded by Gaffney and Erica Keegan, and marks the completion of their Deep Web Trilogy, a combination of thriller, crime, drama, and horror films which delve into the darkest corners of the Dark Net.

The film stars Amy Kelly (Red Rock), John D’alessandro (Class-A, Cardboard Gangsters), Eddie Jackson (Game of Thrones), Brian Fortune (Game of Thrones), Alan Sherlock (Lift), and Fionna Twamley-Hewitt (Red Rock, Charlie), alongside Saoirse Doyle (Class-A, Crone Wood), Rodrigo Ternevoy (Fair City), and Aisling O’Neill (Fair City).

Visceral, disturbing and gripping, I wanted to but I couldn’t turn away!
