Deadline is reporting that Irish director Ciarán Foy will direct a new psychological horror film, Eli, for Broad Green Pictures.
The film follows a young boy who undergoes treatment for a rare disease in a secluded clinic which turns into a haunted prison with no way out. Ian Goldberg and Richard Naing are rewriting David Chirchirillo’s 2015 Black List script.
Eli will be produced by Trevor Macy for Intrepid Pictures and John Zaozirny for Bellevue Productions, with Melinda Nishioka co-producing for Intrepid, and Braod Green founders Gabriel and Daniel Hammond executively producing.
Foy is also attached to write and direct and co-produce a new Irish horror called The Shee, in association with Marcie Films and horror stable Blumhouse Pictures. Blumhouse hired Foy for Sinister 2 after his debut feature Citadel, which he wrote and directed, premiered at South by Southwest in 2012 to rave reviews, winning the festival’s coveted Midnighters Audience Award. Citadel went on to be a critical smash home and abroad, and featured on a number of Irish critics’ best of 2014 lists and went on to bag a slew of awards around the globe.
