Here’s the first poster for writer/director Mary McGuckian’s new Eileen Gray biopic The Price of Desire.
The film takes place in France, and tells the controversial story of the house E-1027, and of how Swiss-French architect/designer Le Corbusier effaced and defaced Eileen Gray’s moral right to be recognised as the author of her work and as one of the most forceful and influential inspirations of a century of modern architecture and design.
Orla Brady stars as the famous Irish architect and furniture designer, with support from Vincent Perez, Francesco Scianna
The film is a co-production between Ireland’s EG Film Productions and Belgium’s Saga Film, in association with Fabrica de Cine and US based Liberty Liquid Films and Rush River Entertainment. The film also has the support of The Irish Film Board, S481, BNP Paribas Fortis Film Fund with the support of the Media Production Guarantee Fund and Audiovisual Aval S.G.R.
The Price of Desire will be released by Munro Films in Ireland and the UK on May 27th.
