Underwhelming and featuring De Niro with his top off (insert sad face here) it seems all involved have missed a chance to make something that could have been at the very least interesting if not entertaining.
A well-made action thriller sadly let down a great deal by a tired plot and weak performances from supporting cast, but a terrific performance from Chris Pine as Jack Ryan and some fantastic action sequences make up for it. Well worth seeing.
With typically memorable characters and a delicious soundtrack, Inside Llewyn Davis is another fine addition to the Coen Brothers catalogue of depressed manhood.
The Wolf of Wall Street is very good indeed. As bleak a message as Scorsese has ever delivered. And he has done this whilst making us all laugh.
Featuring two very strong performances and a good ensemble cast is not enough to save this very downbeat and unpleasant affair. Mean people being mean to each other just isn’t very entertaining.
As entertaining as the film can be, you're not looking at too many differences between The Wolf Of Wall Street and an American Pie movie.
The Wolf of Wall Street is a very entertaining piece, with some excellent performances, but it never quite feels like it gets all the way home, which doesn’t make it in any way bad just not as good as we would have hoped.
Inside Llewyn Davis is a journey through one mans sadness as he attempts to realise his musical potential or at least make those around him believe in what he sees himself. Unapologetically true to life and mesmerising in the same breath.
A compelling watch, for two hours you are given a peak behind the curtain of professional cycling.
As story that could have been done so wrong, but is done just right by the fantastic Steve McQueen. Never goes over the top and is as close to perfection you’ll see all year. Go see it.
