#IrishFilm: Watch the trailer for artistic new Irish documentary Photo City
Ahead of its premiere at the Audi Dublin International Film Festival on Tuesday, February 21st, directors John Murphy and Traolach Ó Murchú have released the trailer for their new documentary, Photo City.
Rochester, NY is a city defined by photography. Once dominated by Kodak, the city now faces a new digital future. Photo City presents a portrait of photography itself as told through the lens of the citizens of a place defined by the art form. The film explores how the various strands of the city interact with photography, how its past informs its present, and how the resilience of its citizens perhaps suggests a future.
Produced by Sorcha Glackin for Blacksheep Productions, Photo Cityis one of two Reel Art documentaries, funded by the Arts Council, that feature at the festival. Reel Art is an Arts Council scheme designed to provide film artists with a unique opportunity to make highly creative, imaginative and experimental documentaries on an artistic theme.
Photo City will have its premiere on Tuesday, February 21st at 6 pm in the IFI as part of the Audi Dublin International Film Festival. It will be released nationwide later this year. For more follow the film on Facebook and Twitter.
